- Official registration for MAX 2018 is now open. Adobe MAX is the largest convention aimed at creatives and will feature the latest innovations, breaking news, and keynotes from some of the biggest names in creative design. This happens from October 15th through the 17th in Los Angeles, California. This year it will include John Madea – designer, technologist, and the Global Head of Computational Design + Includes at Automattic. Kurtz is a Brooklyn-based artist and author of “Things Are What You Make of Them.” Aaron Draplin is a graphic designer and founder of the Draplin Design Company. - In Adobe Illustrator, there is a new feature coming to gradients. It is called Diffusion gradients. Gradients are used to add depth to your work, but working with linear and radial gradients is limiting. Diffusion gradients give you the ability to blend colors more naturally. Using this feature, fuse the colors and create a unique look. What is also great is you can fuse as many of these colors as you want for unlimited looks. You can control the intensity and the transparency. To see more, watch this video.
- Augmented reality is big with Adobe, but it is not just for big business anymore. Think of this. Someone hands you a business card, and you put it in front of your camera. The person’s product suddenly appears on the table. Or maybe some animation pops up and begins playing. According to Mark Asher, the director of corporate strategy at Adobe, “The technology to create eye-popping AR is finally ubiquitous.” To read more about it, check out this blog post.
- Have you heard of Cinemagraphs? The things that resemble a photo until they move. It’s a combination of still photos and video. They are easier to make than videos, and because of the movement, they are used to make people engage with businesses. They differ from GIFs but have some similar qualities.
